Common tee materials include stainless steel, carbon steel, copper, plastic, etc. The following are the differences in their performance and price:
Performance differences
Stainless steel tee
Strong corrosion resistance, can resist the erosion of a variety of chemicals, suitable for environments with corrosive media, such as chemical, food and beverage industries.
High strength, can withstand high pressure and temperature, can be used for high temperature and high pressure piping system, such as electric power, petrochemical and other fields.
Good hygienic performance, smooth surface, not easy to breed bacteria, in line with food hygiene standards, commonly used in food, medical and other industries with high hygiene requirements.
Carbon steel tee
Higher strength, can withstand greater pressure, widely used in general industrial piping and building water supply and drainage systems.
The price is relatively low, but the corrosion resistance is poor, easy to rust, usually need anticorrosion treatment, such as painting, galvanizing, etc., to extend the service life. Suitable for occasions that do not require high corrosion resistance.
Copper tee
It has good corrosion resistance, especially to some weak acidic and alkaline media with good resistance.

Softer texture, easy to process and install, but the strength is relatively low compared to stainless steel and carbon steel tees, generally applicable to piping systems with not too high pressure.
Plastic tees
Excellent corrosion resistance, almost no reaction with any chemical substances, suitable for a variety of corrosive media transportation.
Light weight, easy to install, low construction cost.
Good insulating properties, but relatively poor strength and high temperature resistance, generally applicable to low temperature, low pressure piping systems, such as building water supply and drainage, agricultural irrigation and other fields.
Price difference
Generally speaking, copper tee price is the highest, this is because copper is a relatively scarce and high value of the metal, coupled with its good performance, making the copper tee in the market more expensive.
Stainless steel tee price is second, the price of stainless steel material grade and specifications vary. For example, 316L stainless steel tee has better corrosion resistance due to its higher nickel and molybdenum content and will be priced higher than ordinary 304 stainless steel tee.
The price of carbon steel tee is relatively low because the raw material cost of carbon steel is low and the production process is relatively simple. But after special anti-corrosion treatment of carbon steel tee, the price will increase.
Plastic tee has the lowest price, its raw material cost is low, and the production efficiency is high, so it has a high cost performance in the market, especially suitable for some cost-sensitive application scenarios.
