This Automotive Exhaust 409 Seamless Stainless Steel Tube is a cost-effective ferritic grade specifically developed for exhaust systems, mufflers, and catalytic converter components. It provides essential resistance to hot exhaust gas and condensation corrosion, making it ideal for demanding automotive applications.
The 409 grade is stabilized with titanium, which prevents sensitization and intergranular corrosion even in the aggressive condensate that forms at the cold end of exhaust systems. With lower nickel content, it maintains competitive pricing while offering significantly better durability than aluminized or plain carbon steel tubing.
Manufactured through cold drawn seamless process and supplied pickled and annealed, this tube is available in outside diameters from 6 mm to 630 mm and wall thickness from 0.5 mm to 30 mm. The seamless construction eliminates weld seams, enhancing formability during bending and resistance to cracking under vibration and thermal cycling in automotive service.
