Although both specifications use the same raw materials, have the same steel grades, but the difference between them is that SA-105 Normalized Fittings have a specific requirement, with regards to its heat treatment. Although the chemistry of both specifications is the same, the mechanical properties of ASTM A105N Forged Fittings are better suited to critical conditions. These fitting have been furnished by heat treating them using a normalizing process. Hence the term N in the ASTM A105N Forged Fittings stands for the component in a normalized condition.
