1. Product Description
This product is a 90-degree Long Radius (LR) butt-welding elbow manufactured from UNS C70600 (CuNi 90/10) in accordance with ASTM B466 and ASME B16.9 standards . The LR design features a radius of curvature equal to 1.5 times the pipe diameter (R = 1.5D), ensuring smooth fluid flow with minimal pressure loss . CuNi 90/10 is a solid-solution copper-nickel alloy with an alpha-phase structure, offering an excellent balance of corrosion resistance, strength, and cost-effectiveness .

5. Functions
The 90° LR elbow changes the direction of fluid flow within a piping system by 90 degrees with minimal pressure drop, thanks to the long radius design that reduces flow resistance and turbulence .
6. Installation Instructions

Preparation: Degrease and clean pipe ends and elbow weld areas thoroughly with approved solvent to remove oil, grease, and oxidation .

Edge Preparation: For wall thickness ≥3mm, prepare a V-groove with 60-75° included angle .

Alignment: Accurately align the elbow with connecting pipes; tack welds should be kept minimum and cleaned thoroughly .

Welding: Use TIG (GTAW) process with ERCuNi filler wire (AWS A5.7). Shielding: 100% pure argon; back-purging required for root pass to prevent oxidation. Maintain short arc length and use stringer bead technique .

Post-Weld: Allow gas flow over weld after completion; no post-weld heat treatment required .
