Forged Pipe Fittings Threaded Olet ASTM A815 UNS S44627 Duplex Stainless Steel 1" 3000LB ASME B16.11
1. Product Description
This product is a forged threaded olet (branch connection fitting) manufactured from ASTM A815 UNS S44627 in accordance with ASME B16.11 standards . UNS S44627 (also known as XM-27 or E-BRITE® 26-1) is a super-ferritic stainless steel with high chromium content (25–27.5%) and very low carbon and nitrogen levels, offering excellent resistance to chloride pitting and stress-corrosion cracking . This 1", Class 3000# fitting features a threaded female connection (NPT) for the branch pipe, designed to be welded to the run pipe after drilling .

3. Application / Usage
This threaded olet is ideal for creating branch connections in demanding corrosive environments:
-
Oil & Gas: Offshore platforms, subsea piping systems
-
Chemical Processing: Chloride-containing process streams, heat exchangers, pressure vessels
-
Power Generation: Coker components, air preheaters, heat recuperators
-
Marine & Seawater Systems: Solenoid valves, high-pressure branch connections
4. Advantages
-
Superior Chloride Resistance: High chromium (25–27.5%) and molybdenum (0.75–1.5%) provide excellent resistance to pitting and chloride stress-corrosion cracking
-
Threaded Convenience: NPT branch connection eliminates welding on the branch side, simplifying installation
-
High Purity Alloy: Vacuum melting techniques control chemical composition to tight tolerances, ensuring optimum corrosion resistance and ductility
-
Cost-Effective: Lower nickel content (~0.5%) compared to austenitic grades offers significant material cost savings
-
Reliable Branch Connection: Designed to be welded laterally to the run pipe after drilling, creating a 90° branch derivation
5. Functions
The threaded olet provides a branch connection point to connect a smaller pipe (1") to a larger header pipe. The fitting is welded to the main pipe after drilling, and the branch pipe is connected via the threaded female outlet, enabling fluid to be diverted from the main pipeline without cutting the run pipe .
6. Installation Instructions
-
Preparation: Clean the run pipe surface and fitting area of all contaminants.
-
Marking: Mark the exact drilling location on the run pipe per specification.
-
Drilling: Drill the run pipe at the marked location to the required diameter.
-
Fitting Preparation: Place the olet over the drilled hole and secure in position.
-
Welding: Perform fillet welding around the lower side of the olet to the run pipe following approved WPS with certified welders .
-
Thread Connection: Apply PTFE tape or pipe dope to the branch pipe male threads and screw into the threaded outlet using appropriate torque.
7. Precautions
-
Orientation: Ensure the olet is correctly aligned over the drilled hole to maintain proper flow .
-
Ferritic Structure: UNS S44627 is a ferritic stainless steel; avoid exposure to temperatures above 470°C in corrosive service to prevent embrittlement .
-
Thread Compatibility: NPT, BSPT, and BSPP threads are not interchangeable; verify thread type per system specification.
-
Welding Procedure: Use proper welding procedures to avoid carbide precipitation in the heat-affected zone due to high chromium content.
8. Shipping & Delivery
-
Standard delivery time is typically 15–30 days, subject to order quantity and specification availability.
9. Payment Terms
-
Common international payment methods include T/T (Telegraphic Transfer) and L/C at sight (Letter of Credit).
10. Packaging
-
Products are securely packed in plywood cases or wooden crates with internal cushioning to ensure safe transportation and prevent damage during transit .
11. After-Sales / Return & Warranty Policy
-
