The UNS S31803 fittings consist of duplex stainless steel, with equal portions of austenite and ferrite microstructure.

The UNS S31803 Pipe Fittings has two phases and comprises ferritic, austenitic, 22 % chromium, 3 % molybdenum,

Duplex stainless steels are a family of stainless steels. These are called duplex (or austenitic-ferritic) grades because their

metallurgical structure consists of two phases, austenite (face-centered cubic lattice) and ferrite (body centered cubic lattice)

in roughly equal proportions. They are designed to provide better corrosion resistance, particularly chloride stress corrosion

and chloride pitting corrosion.Duplex stainless steel UNS S31803 (and the other specifications listed below) is described as

a duplex stainless steel with a microstructure of 50:50 austenite and ferrite. The steel combines good mechanical strength

(typically up to over 480 MPa yield strength) and ductility with moderate to
good corrosion resistance in a variety of environments.
