Every corrosion resistant stub end is produced from verified stainless steel plates and pipes with full material traceability. Frequently Asked Questions
Which grade is best for seawater service?
For seawater and chloride-rich environments, we recommend SS316L corrosion resistant stub ends. The addition of molybdenum in SS316L provides significantly better pitting and crevice corrosion resistance than SS304.
How is the passivation treatment performed?
The fittings are first pickled in a nitric acid solution to remove scale and surface contamination, then passivated to promote the formation of a uniform chromium oxide layer. The treated surface is tested to confirm corrosion resistance.
Can you supply stub ends for high temperature acid service?
Yes, but the grade selection depends on the acid type, concentration and temperature. Please provide your service conditions and our engineers will recommend the most suitable stainless steel grade for your application.
Do you offer salt spray test reports?
Yes. Salt spray testing per ASTM B117 can be arranged for each batch, and the test report will be included in the shipping documentation. Third-party testing is also available.
