European buyers usually ask for EN 10253-2 rather than ASME B16.9, and the difference is not only paperwork. The EN 10253-2 fitting is dimensioned on the outside diameter with a defined wall table, so a DN150 x DN100 fitting ordered to this standard will not match a B16.9 fitting of the same nominal size at the bevel.

This concentric reducer is produced to EN 10253-2 Type A in 1.4404 (316L) and 1.4307 (304L), with the wall taken from the EN table and the bevel prepared for the mating pipe schedule. For contractors working to DIN 2616 drawings or to GOST 17378 on eastern European projects, the same body can be supplied against those dimensional tables.

What is the difference between EN 10253-2 Type A and Type B?

Type A covers fittings with a defined wall thickness table and a weld bevel matched to the pipe, while Type B is dimensioned on the inside diameter for a closer bore match. For most European process lines the concentric reducer is ordered as Type A.

Can you supply the European grade designations on the certificate?

Yes. The certificate lists 1.4404 and its UNS equivalent S31603, and the same applies to 1.4307 and S30403, which is what EU receiving inspection expects.

Does the DN150 reducer match a B16.9 fitting of the same size?

No. The outside diameter and the H dimension follow the EN table, so the bevel will not line up with an ASME fitting. Please confirm the standard before ordering this size.

Which surface finish is standard for food service?

Pickled and passivated with roughness better than Ra 3.2. Electropolished finish is available when the process requires a lower roughness inside the concentric reducer.

Is a GOST version available for a Russian project?

Yes. GOST 17378 dimensions and the 12X18H10T grade equivalent can be produced, with the certificate issued against the requested Russian standard.
