1. Product Description
The tee is a pipe fitting with three openings used to branch or combine fluid flow in pipeline systems. It features one inlet and two outlets (or vice versa), available in equal tee and reducing tee configurations. Manufactured from carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, or copper, the tee is suitable for welding, threaded, or socket-weld connections in demanding industrial environments.
2. Key Specifications

-
Standards: ASME B16.9, GB/T12459, DIN, JIS
3. Applications
Widely used in petroleum, chemical, natural gas, power generation, nuclear energy, shipbuilding, papermaking, food processing, water treatment, and municipal construction for pipeline branching, convergence, and fluid direction change.
4. Product Advantages
-
High strength with uniform wall thickness at the branch junction
-
Excellent corrosion resistance (especially stainless steel grades)
-
Lightweight compared to cast fittings, reducing structural load
-
Smooth inner surface minimizes fluid resistance
-
Available in customized dimensions and materials for specific projects
5. Product Functions
The tee enables division of a single flow into two directions or merging of two flows into one. It maintains system pressure integrity while allowing directional control, sampling, or parallel distribution in pipeline networks.
6. Instruction for Use
-
Verify the tee size and pressure rating match the pipeline specification before installation.
-
Clean the pipe ends and tee openings; remove debris and oil.
-
For butt-weld tees: align the fitting with the pipe, tack-weld at three points, then complete welding per applicable standard.
-
For threaded tees: apply PTFE tape or sealant to male threads, tighten with a wrench—do not over-torque.
-
After installation, perform a pressure test to confirm no leakage at the joints.
7. Precautions
-
Do not subject the tee to impact or drop during storage and handling.
-
Keep stainless steel tees away from contact with dissimilar metals to prevent galvanic corrosion.
-
Ensure the pipeline is depressurized and drained before installation or maintenance.
-
Do not use damaged or deformed fittings; inspect the branch junction for cracks before welding.
-
For high-pressure applications, use fittings with verified material certificates.
