1. Product Description 

 

Nickel alloy pipe is a tubular product based on nickel, alloyed with copper, chromium, molybdenum, iron, titanium, etc., and manufactured through vacuum melting, hot working, and cold deformation processes, available in seamless and welded types. The production route includes vacuum induction melting, electroslag remelting, hot extrusion, cold rolling, and cold drawing, combined with intermediate annealing to achieve uniform and fine grain structures. Representative grades include Monel 400 (Ni-Cu series, resistant to seawater and reducing acids) and Incoloy 825 (Fe-Ni-Cr-Mo series, titanium-stabilized, resistant to sulfuric and phosphoric acids). Products can be supplied in solution-annealed or stress-relieved conditions, with surfaces pickled, bright-annealed, or mechanically polished to meet various installation requirements. Each tube undergoes strict visual inspection and non-destructive testing to ensure freedom from cracks, folds, and residual scale.

2. Product Applications 

  • Marine engineering & shipbuilding: Seawater cooling piping, firewater lines, marine heat exchanger tubes, and submarine cable protection pipes (Monel 400).

  • Chemical & fertilizer industries: Sulfuric acid concentrators, phosphoric acid evaporators, alkylation units, and fluorine-containing chemical pipelines (Incoloy 825).

  • Oil & gas: Gathering and transmission lines in sour oil/gas fields containing CO₂ and H₂S, downhole tools, and completion strings.

  • Nuclear fuel reprocessing: Nuclear waste liquid transfer lines and shielding pipes for radioactive media.

  • Paper industry: Pulp digesters, chlorine and chlorine dioxide delivery lines in bleaching sections.

  • Food processing: Juice concentration evaporators, soy sauce brewing equipment, and dairy heat exchanger tubes.

  • Mining & metallurgy: Anolyte circulation lines in electrolytic refining and acid-resistant piping in leaching processes.

3. Product Advantages 

  1. Superior seawater corrosion resistance: Monel 400 exhibits extremely high resistance in flowing seawater, virtually immune to pitting and crevice attack, making it the preferred material for marine piping.

  2. Excellent resistance to mixed acids: Incoloy 825 performs stably in sulfuric, phosphoric, and nitric acid mixtures, particularly resistant to acidic solutions containing fluoride and chloride ions.

  3. Titanium stabilization against intergranular corrosion: Titanium addition in 825 effectively suppresses chromium carbide precipitation during welding and hot working, ensuring weld joint corrosion resistance.

  4. Good low-temperature toughness: Both alloys show no ductile-to-brittle transition at cryogenic temperatures, suitable for LNG and air separation plant services.

  5. Excellent erosion-corrosion resistance: Forms a protective surface film at high flow velocities and in solid-particle-bearing media, outperforming standard stainless steels in erosion resistance.
